Everyone’s favourite spider – Incy Wincy

Ok, so we all know Incy Wincy – I promise this post is worth it though! The finger play for this song is perfect for little fingers and fresh eyes learning about the world. But, if you’d like to shake it up a little, I’ve added the chorus from Fuzzy The Clown by Susie Davies-Splitter & Phil Splitter and some hand claps into the mix for extra giggly fun. Watch the video for a demonstration.

What are we learning?

  • We’re learning through our bodies, which is what early childhood is all about. Children can feel the words ‘up’ and ‘down’. ⁣
  • Ticking is a beautiful way to bond and be playful with children. ⁣
  • Children explore anticipation as they wait for the tickles and pause with the claps. ⁣
  • Language acquisition is boosted with additional ways to explore the nursery rhyme and give it new meaning.
